Vision of Performance Zone 12
Performance Zone 12 coaching practices will strengthen collaboration and intentional planning within individual school buildings and between PZ 12 schools to ensure the effective implementation of Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS).

Implement grade level, vertical, and/or zone-wide Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

Strengthen NVACS-based lesson planning by selecting focused learning targets.

Provide resources—PZ 12 Website, links to CCSS websites, books, manuals, literacy lab renovation—to assist teachers with effective planning.

Knowing that assessment is the roadmap to rigor, incorporate next generation assessment question types into formative and summative assessments, utilizing the Backwards Assessment Model (BAM) to ensure instructional best practices.

Model meta-cognitive engagement strategies—leading to self-monitored learning for all students.
